Work In Progress.

A work in progress. I started this before work today, and I need to finish the penciling. I wanted her holding a wire hanger, but I think her hand is going to be on her hip instead.

If you can't tell, it's Joan Crawford. OR Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford from the movie Mommie Dearest.

I plan on inking it and then coloring it with watercolor. Very simple. Much like the flapper card, and my "Then and Now" illustrations.

Weekend Art

So everybody baled out on me Saturday for going to Prov Sketchy so I don't have any pictures of boxum gals to post for you today. Instead I started painting the under the sea mural on my Gramma's bathroom wall with the help of my brother's girl friend, Marisa. We did a good job. One or two nights this week I'll have to work on it more, and spend another good chunk of this upcoming Saturday painting again.

Saturday afternoon I went to Sarah's and we watched Rent: Recorded Live on Broaday. Still amazing after the 3rd time seeing it. Seriously people, if you want to see Rent, either see the tour, or the live DVD. The movie is terrible.

Then Sunday the student that I am mentoring for her senior project came over to work on her project. We kinda botched things a bit so this week I am going to figure out what we did wrong, correct it, and then tell her about it next time we meet up. And while she was working I drew a Princess Jasmine doppleganger.

Clay, the Hopeless Romantic posted a clip from a very horrible live action adaptation of Astro Boy. So, naturally, I decided to do a doodle of Astro Boy on scrap paper at work. Fun times.



He scanned in a little crooked... :P But what are you gonna do about it?


I wish I collected the English manga for this before it went out of print...

Sketch Deposit...

Not much new stuff lately. My non-life has been uninspiring so I will present you with an old moleskine spread, and a work sketch.


Moleskine and brush pen. The Mircron brand of brush pens kind of suck. They fray fast. I like the Faber Castle ones the best.


Just a simple pencil sketch on "double weight matte paper". I still have yet to decide if this is a guy or girl... I think it is supposed to be a girl.

Forever long update time!

I haven't really gotten around to posting here. As you can tell it has been months. I'm reletivly busy with work sucking my soul and not allowing me to get my creative juices flowing any more. Also I have been working on another blog called "Bad Graphic Design".

I havn't gotten around to doing a new drawing in 2009 so far, but I did this one not too too long ago.

I hope to update a lot more in the new year!
